Our logo represents:

  • "Teaching Wigwam Lodge", the vision of Chief Shingwauk in 1873
  • Mother Earth as the centre, Turtle Island the focus
  • Meaningful colours: Chief Shingwauk's colours - red, blue, green, yellow
  • Yellow in the centre of the wigwam shape to represent: centre, warmth, learning, safe, future
  • Chief Shingwauk's colours surround this centre, meaning that Chief Shingwauk's vision/Anishinaabe history is the richness that is our future and the foundation of this centre of learning
Crane Symbol

Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig was founded to fulfill the vision of Ojibway Chief Shingwauk. Chief Shingwauk belonged to the crane clan, he signed documents with this symbol.
